Ontario Records
OWA Technical & Competition Rules recognizes records established by Ontario Weightlifting Association athletes in the Masters (effective January 2015), Senior, Junior, Youth and Juvenile (effective September 2014) age groups in the Snatch, Clean & Jerk and Total and in all bodyweight categories.
In order for an Ontario record to be formally recognized by the OWA, the following must apply:
-
the athlete must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
-
the athlete must be a resident of Ontario for the past six months
-
the record must be adjudicated by three Level 4 or higher Technical Officials
-
the competition must be a sanctioned, drug-tested meet (a drug-tested meet is one in which the CCES has been invited, whether they come or not)
-
For competitions in Ontario, the competition must have been registered by way of an OWA Competition Sanction Request Form and fee AND the competition must have been registered by the OWA by way of the CWFHC Registration for Anti-Doping Tests and fee
-
For competitions out of province or out of country, the competition must be officially sanctioned by an IWF governing body, be registered with an IWF anti-doping agency, have the appropriate IWF carded Technical Officials and be listed on either an IWF, WCH or PSO Calendar.
-
Effective September 2014, records established by Ontario Weightlifting Association athletes in the Juvenile age group (10-15 years of age) ONLY will be recognized at meets not subject to drug testing as long as three carded Technical Officials are in the position of referee.
It is the responsibility of the athlete or coach to forward any out-of-province results to the Ontario Weightlifting Association.
